This initial masterplanning commission developed into a mixed business, commercial and leisure scheme located at Celtic Springs, Newport in South Wales for Robert Hitchins Properties.
The scheme comprises a total of over 600,000 sq ft and was constructed in phases.  Our first building on this site, the Quadrant, was approximately 40,000 sq ft of B1 office accommodation. This new building accommodates EADS and was completed in the summer of 2003.  The second phase was completed in 2007.  Four of the buildings are located behind the Quadrant/Technology building and have the capability for secure vehicular access and servicing facilities.  The Technology building is an extension of the Quadrant and is formed from its geometry created by its crescent style.
The topography of the site, and our design, allowed for the buildings to cut into and/or terrace up the rising ground form that follows the natural contours of the site.  The new buildings repeat the principal elevational features and palette of materials of the Quadrant, Phase 1.
The sensitive business nature of this Client means that we worked collaboratively, and in conjunction, with their in-house security team who adhere fastidiously to the MOD standards of security.
The Fit-out Contract for the second phase started on site in July 2007 and was completed in May 2008.
