our expertise
We have extensive experience in the design of a wide range of building types and sectors, from retail and leisure, through to schools, further/higher education, health and all types of residential and mixed-use development and regeneration.
Embedded in every aspect of design.
At Powell Dobson, we are committed to responding to social, environmental, and economic issues across all aspects of our work. As designers, we recognise that we have a responsibility and an opportunity to make a positive contribution through the buildings and places we create.
We engage with people at every level and with 5 STEM Ambassadors covering architectural design and technology. These individuals are integral to our education programme. We continuously build on our existing relationship with Careers Wales to develop further Built Environment information using a framework project to demonstrate the construction/ built environment process incorporating the key disciplines of our design teams to be used as a teaching resource or for careers advice.
It is at the heart of everything we do.
As a practice, we feel a great responsibility to future generations, and take Net Zero Carbon commitments very seriously. At Powell Dobson, we have our own in house Certified Passivhaus Designers, as well as AECB CarbonLite certifier, who are embedded within our multiple studios, steering and pushing net zero design.
Powell Dobson has committed to achiving net zero carbon as a business by 2050. We annually update our carbon reduction plan, and publish our carbon figures in accordance with PPN 06/21.
Digital Technology plays a significant role at Powell Dobson, we are able to design buildings more efficiently and creatively, bringing huge benefits to our design team and clients. Digital Technology reshapes how we communicate, collaborate and deliver knowledge.
Technology continuously evolves so we have a dedicated innovation team focused on monitoring industry trends, and trialling the latest technology to make sure we are always at the forefront of the industry.
