Unified Breast Unit, Ysbysty Ystrad Fawr
CAERPHILLYThis project merges Aneurin Bevan University Health Board’s breast cancer screening services into a specialist centralised hub.
The interiors take inspiration from cafe and hotel design and provide modern imaging facilities in an environment that prioritises patient experiences.
The building was a single storey construction on columns above the existing car park at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr adjacent to the main hospital entrance. It was designed to be constructed quickly to minimise disruption to the existing hospital and avoid making any alterations to the existing flood defences.
