Cochrane Building

Powell Dobson Architects designed the new library and teaching facility for the School of Medicine for Cardiff University.

The 6,200 m2 medical education building houses clinical skills and simulation laboratories, together with offices and student social learning space associated with the library facility.
The building forms the new face of the Medical School on the Heath Hospital Campus and a new external plaza connects it to the recently completed Ty Dewi Sant Lecture Theatre Building (also by Powell Dobson).

The accommodation is grouped around two full height atria and achieved a BREEAM “Excellent” rating.
