Blaenavon Primary School & Community Campus

The Blaenavon campus was one of the first projects launched under Torfaen’s vision for transforming the teaching and learning environment, looking at innovation in the classroom, and exploring both virtual and traditional methods of teaching.

It houses a 130 place nursery, 50 place primary school along with a community leisure and Flying Start facility. The linked leisure centre facilities include badminton courts, a dance studio, fitness suite, changing rooms and a multi-use games area.
Built on a steeply sloping site, the layout of the split-level building cleverly manages the complex inter-relationship between the school and the public leisure facilities, whilst maintaining the secure separation line between public realm and safe school environment.
