As a practice, we feel a great responsibility to future generations, and take Net Zero Carbon commitments very seriously. At Powell Dobson, we have our own in house Certified Passivhaus Designers, as well as AECB CarbonLite certifier, who are embedded within our multiple studios, steering and pushing net zero design.
Powell Dobson has committed to achieving net zero carbon as a business by 2050. We annually update our carbon reduction plan, and publish our carbon figures in accordance with PPN 06/21. ‘Click here for our latest Carbon Reduction Plan’
PASSIVHAUS
With in house Passivhaus designers, and in house PHPP modellers, Powell Dobson has the skill set and experience to deliver certified Passivhaus schemes. Our team have a track record of delivering Passivhaus within a multitude of sectors, leading the design process and driving a collaborative and innovative environment for the design team.
AECB CARBONLITE
AECB (Association of Environmentally Conscious Buildings) carbonlite is an energy standard based on the Passivhaus principles, and utilises the PHPP modelling software. The AECB standards are proving to be an excellent alternative to the EPC A requirements stipulated under certain funding obligations. Here at Powell Dobson we have an in house AECB carbonlite certifier, and experience of working on several high rise residential schemes.
NET ZERO
Net zero carbon in operation as a performance standard requires tight collaboration and an in depth understanding on how the building will be used. Powell Dobson have delivered many projects to this standard, over many sectors. We are able to lead this process, and feed into energy strategy’s at early stages of projects. Our team are able to integrate BIM and OneCLick LCA, to provide energy assessors and carbon modellers with accurate and fast embodied carbon calculations.
