The Client’s objective for this project was to consolidate a number of its departments, currently housed in various buildings around the town of Tiverton, into one building on a riverside site on the southern edge of the town centre.
At the same time the council took the opportunity to provide a new county Library facility within the new building occupying approximately 7,000 sq ft out of the total building area of approximately 50,000 sq ft.
The three storey building has a dramatic full height entrance atrium feature, with access to the public "First Stop Shop" and a County Library. Upper floors provide naturally ventilated open plan office space and meeting rooms, featuring exposed concrete soffits ensuring passive internal environmental control, minimizing energy usage.
