Community Benefit Winners at the RICS Awards 2019

Last Wednesday 1st May the RICS Awards 2019 were held at the Exchange Hotel in Cardiff.  Powell Dobson are very proud to have won the Community Benefit Award for our Eastern Community Campus project in Cardiff as part of the Willmott Dixon team.  

The new Eastern Community Campus encompasses a secondary school with post 16 accommodation. The campus includes 1,200 school pupils, 320 post-16 students, vocational workshop accommodation, external sports facilities including grass pitches and 3G/ 4G pitches, community access to sports and internal facilities, and new highways works including proposed traffic calming measures and a new roundabout.

RICS judges said the team behind the project - including Capita, Powell Dobson Architect, Cardiff City Council and Willmott Dixon - had succeeded in creating a project that raised community ambitions through education and sport, providing an inspirational learning environment.

Powell Dobson were also shortlisted in the following categories:

1. Glynn Vivian Art Gallery Swansea (Regeneration Category and Tourism/ Leisure Category)

2. Augusta Bay Llanelli (Residential Category)

3. Brecon Cultural Hub (Regeneration Category and Community Benefit)
