Torfaen Primary School pupils enjoyed their first day in schools this week designed by Powell Dobson Architects.  We undertook these projects as part of Torfaen County Borough Council's 21st Century Schools Programme, a bespoke standandardised design plan for Ysgol Panteg, Welsh Medium Primary School in Pontypool, Llantarnum Primary School in Cwmbran and Blenheim Road Community Primary School in Cwmbran.

The design allows for a similar school design to be customised for the individual circumstances that apply to each of the sites. Each school has a 52 part time equivalent Nursery provision, with Panteg having a two form entry with 420 places and Llantarnum and Blenheim Road each with a 1 1/2 form entry with 315 places, each of the latter with provision for extension to 420 places as/when required.

Powell Dobson worked as part of the Willmott Dixon team which started in October 2015 - two of the schools have now been complete with the third Ysgol Panteg due to complete next year.
