Andrew & Sara Shortlisted for CEW Awards 2016

May 2016

Congratulations to Andrew Beadle who has been shortlisted for the Achiever of the Year Award and Sara Hedd-Ifan who has been shortlisted for the Young Achiever of the Year Award in the forthcoming CEW Awards 2016 to be held in the Celtic Manor in July.

Andrew is a highly experienced Senior Project Architect and Head of BIM within the Practice. Since joining Powell Dobson, he has led the implementation of BIM on both major projects and in the office itself. Andrew has been involved with BIM authoring software since 2004, when he successfully led the implementation of Revit from inception to building completion for the first time. His role as Head of BIM has included developing the company BIM protocols, chairing our in-house BIM hub and engaging with clients to establish how BIM can add value to each project. Andrew is also keen to act collaboratively and has spent time developing the wider teams BIM protocols and procedures if it directly benefits the project. He has also worked directly with several Client Facility Management teams to fully understand their requirements and to ensure the smooth transition of data from the BIM at the end of the project.

In addition to the above, Andrew is also involved in raising industry awareness of BIM locally. He has sat on the CIC Welsh Hub for 2 years and has presented at major events throughout the country using case studies to give specific examples of how BIM has benefitted individual projects. Andrew also recognises that the future of BIM lies with the next generation, and has acted as a guest lecturer (BIM) and Revit trainer at the Welsh School of Architecture.

Sara joined Powell Dobson in 2011 and has gained experience working in a variety of sectors.  During her time at the practice, she has developed skills in residential masterplanning, and elevation design, as well as working on bespoke plans and internal layouts and interior design. Inspired by high quality design that responds to the context, Sara is also interested in the concept of 'place'.

She is currently on the G4C committee, part of the Constructing Excellence in Wales movement, focused on young professionals within the industry, promoting collaborative working, and driving change for the better. Sara is also one of our Construction Ambassadors for CIC.
