This first phase of development for Hammerson in Merthyr incorporated a mix of 13 retail and 3 fast-food opportunities with tenants including B&Q, Boots, TK Maxx, Argos, Next, Curry’s, Pizza Hut, Brantano Footwear, Matalan and Debenhams. The park provides shops for a mix of retailers who typically require large units in accessible places with car parking in order to best serve their customers.
We were re-commissioned by Hammerson in 2010 to undertake further development at their most successful retail park in the UK, Cyfarthfa, in Merthyr Tydfil. This next phase comprised a new unit is for retailer Costa Coffee, and also accommodation for the management of the retail park, toilet facilities and banking facilities.This was completed in 2011.
The next phase which is the expansion of the retail area onto an adjacent brownfield site is currently in the planning stage.
