We were commissioned to comprehensively refurbish and restore the Grade II Listed Glynn Vivian Art Gallery and 1974 Main Gallery together with the design of a new build extension.

The project included a new 50 seat lecture and screening room commenced on site in 2012. Access to all of the contemporary and collection galleries will be enhanced and there will be a new IT resource space along with a purpose built library and research room. Also proposed as part of the scheme will be a new community/ education space, administration offices, conservation studios and workshops and storage facilities. The former school building on Clifton Row will be incorporated and re-used as part of the development.

The scheme was complex in both terms of the various parties and stakeholders involved, and also the physical logistics of delivering the construction scheme in what is a very tight site, within the overall context of a Grade II Listed building. The project was completed in November 2016.
