We were instructed by Linc Cymru Housing Association in April 2018 to develop proposals circa 50 affordable residential units at 48-54 City Road and a connected site to the rear on what was previously 1-3 Vere Street. The former snooker hall and second hand furniture retail space was condemned in Autumn 2018 and has since been demolished, leaving a level development plateau.

Linc's particular aspiration for the scheme is to build a highly innovative engineered timber structure - the first of its kind in Wales - that also presents an outstanding example of the integration of SuDs planting systems in line with future requirements of new guidance.

As well as integrating these innovative techniques a key aim of the project is to provide homes for single people and couples. As such a key to the project is creating spaces which foster incidental social engagement between residents, laying the best possible foundation for the establishment of a neighbourhood and a community of long term tenants.
